While Las Vegas is all about glitz and gambling to most of
the world, it was the place that we lived and raised our family. We moved there
in 1970, and except for a few years in St. George, the city was home until 2012.
Two of our daughters still live there with their families and we have many friends through the church because we were active in the wards and stake there. We also have friends from our neighborhood and many from work since Frank was at
the power company for thirty-one years and I taught in the school district or
worked with curriculum and professional development for twenty years. Even
though we have been gone from Las Vegas for about a year and a half, there are
many people there that we will miss while we’re gone on our mission. This past few days have
been the Las Vegas part of our visiting circuit, spending time with our kids and
grandkids and seeing a few of our friends before we leave. There were many,
many of our friends that we didn’t get to see, but we still love them and will think
of them in South Africa and always.
